Coaching FAQ
Every coaching engagement is different and unique. Nevertheless, the following steps are always present:
- Establishing a Contract
Where we identify the goals, and decide how to track progress and measure success.
- Analyzing the Current Situation
Where we explore and collect data about your “present You”, and what is missing to reach your desired future.
- Building a Plan
Where we design a map to help you navigate through the things you need to start doing, things you need to stop doing, and things you need to do differently. Inside Out.
- Living your Plan
Where you become intentional in creating occasions to test and practice your Plan.
- Closure
A sound Coaching relationship has a beginning and an end, and it doesn’t create dependency. In this last phase we focus on making all your work sustainable and manageable by yourself in the long run. The end goal is to empower you, so to become your own coach.
Typical coachable areas include (but are not limited to):
- Enhancing quality of life
- Achievement of professional and/or personal goals
- Navigating significant personal and/or professional change
- Career (re)design and outplacement
- Gaining clarity and perspective
- Executive presence and leadership
- Discovery of one’s personal leadership style
- Team management
- Cultivation of effective networks and relationships
- Holding difficult conversations
- Work life balance
- Learning to say “no”
- Personal branding, including CV/Resumè and LinkedIn Profile Design
- Team dynamics
Coaching is useful when the waters you’re navigating are either stormy or overly calm, when you see no (exciting) waves on the horizon or don’t feel ready to catch one.
For example:
- Are you ready for a change, but you have no idea where to start from?
- Do you already have a rewarding career and want to have a greater impact?
- Are you in the middle of a tough transition or a crisis (personal or professional), and you feel stuck, not seeing the end of tunnel?
- Do you love what you do, but sense something is out of balance?
- Are you feeling that you have been climbing a ladder that is leaning against the wrong wall?
- Are you feeling the need to reboot or upgrade your system?
- Are you questioning the very meaning of your life? Asking, “Is this all there is?”
- Are you hungry for something more or different?
If you relate to any of these scenarios, coaching might be a good choice for you.
I believe that everyone can benefit from coaching. Nevertheless, the motivation and commitment to do the work it takes, even when it gets tough, are crucial. The will to trust the process, and me as partner, will allow us to come full circle.
If you want to take a look to a list of possible coachable topics, see question nr. 2.
In searching for a coach, you may stumble upon different “tags” or titles: Transition, Life, Executive, Leadership, Team, Career…, to name a few.
In my approach, coaching is all about supporting you, with a solid and robust methodology, as you move from A to B.
Coaching is not about digging into your past, being an expert in your field who gives advice, or telling you what to do.
Coaching is a partnership: with you in the driver’s seat and me leading from behind, both sharing the commitment to reach the specific future outcomes we defined.
Throughout the process, I’ll offer non-judgmental support, and a safe space for reflection while keeping you accountable.
Yes, I earned the PCC Credential through the ICF (International Coaching Federation). Moreover I’m a CHICoach (Certified Hudson Institute Coach), one of the oldest and most respected Coaching Institutes worldwide.
There is no “one size fits all.” I recommend a minimum of 6 sessions in order to identify your goals, ways to measure your progress, and work to be done to get where you want. Typically a coaching engagement spans over three to nine months with weekly or bi-weekly sessions that last for 1 to 1.5 hours.
However, coaching is a unique, individual experience. We will pace and co-design what will fit you personally.
No, this is not necessary. My clients are located worldwide. I coach in person, over the phone, or via Skype. All modalities are equally effective.
I do my best to accommodate your needs and logistics.
English and Italian.
The investment depends on a few factors e.g. duration and frequency of the sessions, topics, stakeholders’ interviews, assessments and other kind of pre-work needed.
Therefore this is something to be defined after we talk about your needs and wants.
